1. How does it work?
Create a free account on Alila Academy (if you haven’t had one), then email us at [email protected] to activate your Affiliate role.
Once activated, your Affiliate account will contain unique Affiliate links that you can share with your audience.
Commissions from purchases made by student accounts associated with your Affiliate links will be recorded (automatically) in the financial reports of your account.
2. How do you determine if a new student account is associated with my Affiliate’s account?
We use Thinkific platform for our courses. This feature is provided by Thinkific.
When a user first visits our site, Thinkific places a cookie in their browser. If they came in through an Affiliate link, that information is recorded in the cookie, which lasts for 30 days. If that same user returns at any point over the next 30 days, the cookie is not modified or updated; only the first visit is relevant. After 30 days, the cookie expires, and their next visit will create a new one, following the same rules.
When that user creates an actual account on our site, Thinkific checks the cookie to see if they should be associated with an existing Affiliate.
So in order for a student account to be associated with your Affiliate account, the student must have visited our site for the first time from your Affiliate's link. If a student visited our site previously on their own, without signing up, but returned within 30 days via your Affiliate link, they will not end up associated with your Affiliate account.
The student account does not need to make any purchases for the association to be established - the link between the student account and Affiliate is made as soon as the account is created, and persists indefinitely.

3. How will I be paid?
You will be paid once a month, by the end of the month, for all sales happened in the previous month. For example: all commission from sales occurred in March will be paid by the end of April.
We pay through Paypal. You will need to have a PayPal account – Please enter this information in your Affiliate’s account.
You can open a free Paypal account if you haven't got one. Please double check that your account can receive payments from an US Paypal account. Also note that Paypal does take a small fee out of the payment total - this fee is on you.
You can also use your Affiliate’s earning to purchase our courses for yourself - just email us your intention before the payment date.
4. What if the buyer wants a refund after purchase?
Per our terms we do not refund, so that usually does not happen. However, there may be cases of credit card fraud, or disputes that may result in canceling of payments. In the unlikely event that we have to return the payment to the buyer, you will not receive your commission for that sale. If the commission has already been paid to you, we will have to ask you to send it back, or it will be deducted from your future payout.
By creating your Affiliate account, you agree that:
2. The commission rate is subject to change at any time or from time to time, in our sole and absolute discretion.
3. The commission is calculated based on the actual sale price, excluding taxes.
4. The financial reports in your Affiliate account are NOT disputable.
In some cases, beyond our control, the association between the user’s account and the Affiliate cannot be established, such as when users block or delete Thinkific cookie, or other reasons that may result in our inability to place or detect the cookie.
5. In the unlikely event that we have to return a payment to the buyer, you will not receive your commission for that sale. If the commission has already been paid to you, you will have to pay it back, or it will be deducted from your future payout.
6. The Affiliate account/program can be terminated at any time, in our sole and absolute discretion.
